Originally built in the 18th century, and situated on the main N7 motorway just outside the heritage town of Roscrea, this hotel was exquisitely refurbished, retaining its "olde worlde" character.

The nearby Slieve Bloom Mountains are internationally acclaimed by hill-walking enthusiasts, where organised walks (either guided or unguided) can be organised on request. Horse-riding is also a popular pursuit, and the local hunt often begins at Racket Hall.
Angling is available on the local River Brosna and at the nearby Laois Angling Centre where two well-stocked lakes provide you with endless hours of enjoyment.
There are many historic attractions to visit including Monaincha Abbey (31st wonder of the world) and the Cross and Round Tower (a monastery founded by St Cronan around 600 AD). You can also see the many local castles in Ballaghmore, Birr, and Leap Castle. Dominating the heart of Roscrea town is the 13th century Norman Castle, which also houses an impressive heritage centre.
