Villa Trapp
From 1923 to 1938, Villa Trapp was the residence of the world-famous Von Trapp family, whose life in Salzburg entered history as “The Sound of Music”, the most popular musical of all times.
The villa is maintained in the style of this period. You will stay in the family’s original rooms, including 2 luxurious, 60 m² suites. They are all very exclusively furnished and maintain the aura of the period in which the Von Trapp family lived there.
From 1947 to 2008, Villa Trapp was not accessible to the public - but this has changed. Now you can live in the rooms where the Von Trapps used to live. You can sleep in the family’s rooms and walk on their paths through the villa and the park.
This stately building enjoys a quiet location close to the centre of Salzburg, surrounded by the city’s largest private park.
If you arrive by public transport, you can get off at the Aigen local train station, which is directly next to the park and which was also used by the family.

Staff at Villa Trapp can give tips on sights and book excursions and tours for you. You can also buy the “Salzburg Card” there.
Villa Trapp offers bed and breakfast. There is no restaurant in the house, but there are several restaurants in various categories nearby. Guests who stay at the villa in the evening may order snacks and drinks for dinner.
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, 6 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 50.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: 100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is partially refundable.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: 10 % VAT is included.
Service charge is not applicable.
EUR 1.10 city/tourist tax per person per night is included.
Internet: Wireless Internet Hotspot is available in public areas and is free of charge.
Meal Plan: Breakfast is included in the room rate.
Parking: Free public parking is possible on site.
Pets: Pets are allowed on request. Charges may be applicable.
The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.

Located just outside of the heart of Salzburg, the original 18th centrury rococo castle lies like a jewel in a dream-like setting. It looks back at a plentiful past as a birthplace of the Salzburg festival and location of the world-famous film "The Sound of Music." The castle is American private property and hence not publicly accessible. Only guests of the house may enjoy the pleasure of 11 suites in the castle or 55 rooms in the Meierhof. Guests of Schloss Leopoldskron are treated to breakfast in the Marble Hall where the likes of Archbishop Firmian and Max Reinhardt once dined.
